Leave a legacy gift
in your will
When you discover you have cancer, your priorities change and one of the big things for me was knowing that you need to leave a legacy. A legacy that’s important to your family, for your friends and something you can be proud of. Through my diagnosis I have come to realise there are very few things in life that are actually important, and legacy is one of them.
Craig Maxwell, Velindre patient.
Leave a gift in your will:
Your lasting legacy is somebody’s hope.
Leaving a gift in your will to Velindre Cancer Charity can make a lasting difference to the patients and families who depend on our services. With 1 in 2 people developing cancer in their lifetime, your legacy has never been more important.

Gifts in wills fund over a third of our work
They help us to continually invest in life-changing research and clinical trials, supportive care services, innovative technologies and essential staff roles. Many people choose to leave a gift in their will to say ‘Thank You’ for the care they or a loved one received from Velindre and to help other patients and families benefit from this same support and care.
While initial donations help us to launch new research projects and clinical trials, gifts in wills are the true driving force that get new treatments over the line, bringing research from the lab to the patient’s bedside. Knowing that we’ll have your support means we can invest in long-term research and clinical trials with confidence— ensuring that our patients and families benefit from the life-changing results of our work, now and in the future.
Supporting Velindre has allowed my relationship with my Mum to continue to grow, even though she’s not here anymore. Every time I donate to Velindre or support the charity, I feel like I’m doing something for her and feel close to her. It’s an incredibly positive way to remember her and to do something to make her proud.

Lisa’s story
Lisa Morgan’s cancer journey began with a lung cancer diagnosis in 2020, leading to surgery and chemotherapy during the isolating Covid-19 pandemic. Despite personal tragedy, including her brother’s death, Lisa remains a resilient fundraiser, deeply grateful to Velindre’s compassionate care.
